How PartnPit will work

PartnPit is in development. This is the journey we’re building, and details may change as we talk to drivers, garages and retailers.

    Tell us about your car and the job

    You enter your registration number and postcode, then choose the job, such as brakes, a battery or an oil change. Picture questions ask the details a garage would need, for example front or rear, pads, discs or both, so every garage prices the same thing.

    Choose what garages should quote for

    You can ask for labour only (you buy the parts), supply and fit (the garage provides the parts), or both so you can compare them.

    Pick your parts

    If you’re buying the parts yourself, you’ll see suitable options from retailers we partner with, with brand, price, delivery and warranty information side by side. Our aim is to match parts to your car using reliable vehicle data, and to have your garage confirm the parts are right before anything is ordered.

    Garages send their quotes

    Local independent garages see your request and decide whether to quote. They can offer labour only, supply and fit, or both, along with when they can do the work. Garages are never forced to fit parts they don’t want to.

    Compare the total

    You’ll see the parts and the fitting as separate lines, with one total, next to any supply-and-fit quotes, so you can choose the combination that suits your budget and your preferences.

  6. 6

    Buy and book

    You buy the parts from the retailer you chose, with delivery to the garage or to your home where that’s available, and book the work with the garage you chose. The agreement for the parts is with the retailer, and the agreement for the work is with the garage.

What PartnPit doesn’t do

  • We don’t sell parts or hold any stock.
  • We’re not a garage and we don’t carry out repairs.
  • We don’t guarantee prices, stock or delivery times. They come from retailers and garages and can change.
  • We don’t replace your garage’s judgement. If a garage says a part isn’t suitable for your car, listen to them.
